Materiali e tecnologie costruttive della tradizione come le pietre laviche montate a secco o piastrelle decorate artigianalmente vengono sapientemente utilizzate in un impianto contemporaneo che dialoga col preesistente attraverso il medesimo dizionario.

Interior restoration and enlargement | 140 sqm
The interior restoration and the enlargement of the original core of this independent house on the slope of Mount Etna (an active volcano) provided the chance to use and reinterpret the wide range of building techniques and materials belonging to a centuries-old popular culture, such as the dry lava stone walls or hand-decorated tiles that are skillfully used for a modern construction speaking to the original structure by means of the same vocabulary.
